Principals Message

Dear White Oaks Families,

A friendly reminder that whenever you come onto campus during school hours (8:25 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), please stop by the office to sign in and pick up a visitor’s badge. Whether you’re volunteering, dropping something off, or visiting for a short time, having a visible badge lets our teachers, staff, and students know that you’ve been approved to be on campus by office staff. Thank you for helping us keep our school safe and welcoming for everyone. We truly appreciate your partnership!

If you have an hour a week to spare and are looking for a volunteer opportunity (or know anyone over the age of 14 who is), Healthy Cities Tutoring is looking for volunteer tutors.  San Carlos is so fortunate to have this program in our community and serving as a volunteer can be incredibly rewarding!  Please see the community section below for additional information.

In community,

Rosina Tong

Principal

Make Attendance A Priority Every Day!

Did you know that regular school attendance is one of the strongest predictors of academic success? Missing just 10% of the school year—about 15 days—can greatly affect your child’s learning. By 6th grade, chronic absenteeism is a major warning sign for future high school dropout. That’s why it’s so important that we work together to make sure your child is in school every day.

Consistent attendance builds strong reading and math skills, helps students develop positive habits, and sets the foundation for future success in college and careers. Missing class not only disrupts academics, it also impacts social connections and emotional growth.

If your child is ill, please notify your school administrative assistant. If you’re experiencing challenges with attendance, reach out to the Principal—we are here to support you.

Together, let’s create a culture of attendance&##8212;every day, every month, all year long. 💚
