Principal’s Message

Dear White Oaks Families,
We’re already eleven days into the school year, and it’s been wonderful to see our students and teachers settling into routines, building connections, and finding their rhythm. These first weeks are about learning together, giving each other grace, and celebrating both the small and big wins along the way.
Morning Arrival at School
You may have noticed a sign at the playground entrance that reads “students only.” This visual helps us create a safe space for active play, while also allowing supervisors to clearly see and support the children. We’ve also placed a reminder sign near the grass area to ensure that students have plenty of room to play there as well.
If you’d like to stay in the yard during drop-off, we kindly ask that parents and caregivers remain either on the blacktop near the “students only” sign or by the picnic tables. Thank you for helping us give children a safe space to play and the independence they need to start their school day.
Join Our School Site Council
Are you looking for a meaningful way to get involved at White Oaks this year? Consider joining our School Site Council (SSC)!
What is the SSC?
The SSC is a group of parents, teachers, and staff members who collaborate with the principal to review and support school improvement programs and plans. Members serve two-year terms and provide valuable feedback on the School Safety Plan, School Site Plan, and the district’s LCAP.
What’s the commitment?
The SSC meets throughout the school year in person, generally on the second or third Thursday of the month from 3:00–4:00 p.m. Our scheduled dates are:
-
9/18/25
-
10/16/25
-
11/13/25
-
2/12/26
-
4/16/26
How to get involved:
If you’re interested or would like more information, please email me at [email protected]. Our first meeting is Thursday, September 18 at 3:00 p.m.—so don’t wait to reach out. I’d love to hear from you!I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September 10 at our PTA social.
