Principals Message

Dear White Oaks Families,

As we wrap up this school year, I find myself feeling a swirl of emotions—gratitude, excitement, and more than a little nostalgia. After seven wonderful years as the White Oaks principal, it’s time for me to begin a new chapter. While I’m excited about the work ahead, leaving this incredible school community is not easy.

It has truly been one of the greatest privileges of my career to serve as your principal. From the first day I walked onto campus, I knew this was a special place. Our students are joyful, curious, and full of potential. Our teachers and staff are passionate, dedicated, and constantly working to create meaningful learning experiences. And you—our families—have been trusted partners every step of the way. Thank you for sharing your children with us and for the endless support you’ve shown over the years.

Together, we’ve weathered challenges, celebrated milestones, and built a school culture rooted in kindness, connection, and growth. I will carry the memories of morning drop-offs, read-alouds, assemblies, and everyday moments that made this work so fulfilling. Your kids have made me laugh, made me proud, and reminded me daily why this work matters.

As I transition into my new role, I’ll still be around—just in a different capacity. I’ll be working across our district to ensure that all of our youngest learners, from preschool through third grade, have a strong and joyful foundation. I’m looking forward to supporting early learning in new ways, but I’ll always keep a very special place in my heart for White Oaks.

Thank you again—for your trust, your partnership, and for being part of this journey. I hope your summer is filled with fun, laughter, and a little bit of rest. This is not goodbye, just see you soon.

Warmly,

Leah Scholer

Sign Up to Be a Buddy Family for New White Oaks Families!

As we get closer to summer, we want to encourage families to sign up to be TK/Kinder Family Buddies. This special White Oaks tradition pairs current families with incoming Kindergarten and TK families to help them feel like a part of the White Oaks community. It is a wonderful resource for the new families in case they have questions about school over the summer and/or at the beginning of the year. First-time families often have normal jitters, and having a particular person or family to talk to helps a lot. Please fill out this form by June 10th to sign up to be a Buddy Family.

Contact [email protected] with questions.

Walk to School Wednesday

Please join us for our last Walk to School Wednesday on June 11. Charms will be given to students who walk, roll, ride, or scoot to school!

Reminder to fill out the PTA Parent Survey

At White Oaks, we believe everyone is welcome and deserves to be seen and heard. We are asking you to fill out a short survey so we can better understand the current makeup of our families as we plan for various diversity initiatives and strive to accurately represent and support our community. Individual survey responses are strictly confidential but top-line results may be shared with the community. PLEASE FILL OUT ONE FORM PER FAMILY.

Join our PTA Playground Committee! Help Us Make it a Better Space Where All Kids Can Thrive!

We hear you! We've had lots of requests for various improvements in the playground and outside space on campus. Here's your chance to give a little of your time that will have years of impact for our kids! Kids thrive on outdoor play, and this space shapes how they learn, make friends, solve problems, burn energy and grow in so many ways. We're creating a committee to gather ideas and create a proposal for the School District to implement. Sign up here

As this project will likely take some time, we're establishing the committee now so we can hit the ground running next school year. Initial ideas include introducing shade structures, more turf, including sensory play options, better access for physically disabled students, and other enhancements.
