Principals Message

Dear White Oaks Families,

We have a lot of school updates to share with you! I’d first like to introduce our new principal for the 2025-26 school year, Rosina Tong! Rosina Tong was approved by the SCSD school board last Thursday night and we are SO excited to welcome her into our White Oaks family. This coming Wednesday, 4/23, we’ll be introducing Xxxx to all of the students during Welcome Wednesday, followed by a parent Meet and Greet Coffee in the MU from 8:45 - 9:15 a.m. We hope you are able to make it.

Yesterday was our Day of Service and we want to thank all of the families who were able to come out and beautify our campus. The cooperation between children and adults was so heart-warming and I know students will be so proud to see their work appreciated on Monday.

As part of our appreciation and thanks for the volunteer work our parents and community members do, we’ll have a coffee cart outside the office the morning of Wednesday, 4/23, in addition to the Meet and Greet coffee in the MU. This cart is a way the White Oaks staff shares our gratitude for our parent volunteers each year so please stop by and treat yourself!

Facilities Updates

At our PTA meeting this past Wednesday, we discussed some of the room changes expected for the fall. White Oaks is gaining an additional UTK (Universal Transitional Kindergarten) classroom as well as a two-year-old classroom in the preschool. Because of these additional classes, there will be some movement taking place over the summer:

  • Room F will become the new UTK classroom and Mrs. Cullinane will move into Room 7

  • Room C will become the new two-year-old classroom and Mrs. Fox-Sennett will move into Room 8

  • ACE is going to move into Room 10 and Room 5 (current Makerspace)

  • TKELP will be taking place inside the UTK classrooms next year

  • Makerspace will be moved onto “Maker Carts” teachers can move into classrooms or other learning areas.

These moves are all taking place this summer and updates will be shared as they become available. If you have any questions about our facility transitions, please feel free to contact Leah Scholer.

Warm Regards,

Leah Scholer

Play the Agents of DiscoverySCEF has partnered with the San Carlos Park & Recreation Department to support a “mission” that will be available to play at Burton Park throughout the Month of April.

There is still time to support STEAM education in our schools. Donors generously committed $150,000 to the Fund-The-Future of Curiosity campaign at the SCEF Starlight Gala. Our goal for this effort is $170,000. Consider helping to ensure that students have the tools they need for STEAM activities and teachers have access to important professional development next school year.

Do you play pickle ball? Sign up for the 2nd annual tournament at Highlands Park, Sunday, May 4th. https://scefkids.ejoinme.org/pickleball
