Principals Message

Optional Parent Input Form

In the spring, our school staff members work collaboratively to make class placements for the upcoming school year. Each child’s unique strengths, learning style, and academic goals are carefully considered. We aim to create balanced classes that result in a comfortable and enriching classroom community for all. One of the qualities I value most about our school is that our teachers really know their students extremely well. I’m confident that a thoughtful and mindful placement will be made for each child.

If there is specific information that you’d like us to consider during the placement process, make sure to submit this optional form no later than Friday, May 2, 2025.  Please also remember that requests for specific teachers will not be considered at any time, and comments received after the deadline will not be accepted.

If you have any other questions or concerns about your child’s transition to the next grade level, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I look forward to continuing to support your student's educational journey.

Thank you to all our parents, whether at-home or on-site, for your continued support and engagement in your child’s education. Parent involvement in a child’s education has been examined in countless studies and reports and the research overwhelmingly supports increased academic achievement, better classroom behavior, and positive teacher morale. It is our goal to partner with parents to provide an enriching whole child learning experience.

Warm Regards,

Leah Scholer

ABILITY AWARENESS RESOURCES FOR PARENTS & KIDS

The School District recently held the annual ‘Ability Awareness’ week and this is a perfect opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of disabled people, as well as gaining a better understanding of the unique talents of, and challenges faced by, some of our students.

Our Culture & Belonging PTA committee has created a parents guide with a number of parenting support resources for those with children with additional support needs. This provides a wealth of information on a number of topics such as neurodiversity, where to get help, additional support needs, parent support groups book recommendations and MUCH more! We would like this to be a 'living' resource, so if you have any recommendations you’d like to add, please share with Barbara Taylor ([email protected]) and/or Mariel Valezzi ([email protected]).

We've also curated a collection of Ability Awareness related activities to share with your children at home like learning ASL, picture book lists, crafts and occupational therapy practices to use at home!

White Oaks School Dance

The White Oaks School Dance is coming up on Friday, April 25, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the MU!

Please note that the playground will be closed during the dance. Please help us keep our kids safe by redirecting them towards this special event.

Beautify our campus during the White Oaks Day of Service!

SCEF News

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent gala and auctions. Your support makes an incredible difference to our students every day.

Congratulations to the winner of our Starlight Raffle was Reena Jashnani-Slusarz & Kevin Slusarz. They won dinner for four at the French Laundry.

There is still time to support STEAM education in our schools. Donors generously committed $150,000 to the Fund-The-Future of Curiosity campaign at the SCEF Starlight Gala. Our goal for this effort is $170,000. Consider helping ensure students have the tools they need for STEAM activities and teachers have access to important professional development next school year.
