Family Support

We want to ensure that our families receive the support they need as we transition back to school. Please visit the SCSD website to access resources such as our Lunch program, information regarding health and safety, and after school programs. We also offer chromebooks to students without devices at home to support at-home learning as needed. We do not currently anticipate a need for at-home devices although students may want one so that they can access Lexia, Raz Kids, and Reflect Math for additional practice at home. If your child does not have access to a device at home and you would like them to have a Chromebook, please reach out to Leah Scholer or Annie Stevenson for more information.

Warmest regards,
Leah Scholer, Principal

PTA News

Welcome from your PTA
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at White Oaks. We hope you had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to a fantastic school year! The White Oaks PTA is incredibly grateful to our incomparable teachers and staff for all the hard work they have put into the start of school.

This year, the PTA's goal is to provide opportunities for our children to grow in and outside the classroom, create space for our families to build meaningful connections, and support the wonderful work already happening on campus. We look forward to working together this year to make White Oaks a vibrant place where our children and teachers love learning together every day. Whether you are a new or returning family, we hope you will join our PTA, reach out with new ideas, and attend our monthly meetings.

On Wednesday, August 21st, after you drop off your children for the first day of school, please stop by the MU for some coffee, snacks (and tissues). We will be there, alongside PTA board members and committee chairs, to share with you all the wonderful opportunities there are to engage this year. Come and learn more about the PTA, or just say hi! We’re excited to meet you!

Finally, we welcome any questions; please reach out! We are here for you and cannot wait to partner with you in making this an amazing year for our kids at White Oaks.

Aurelia Abcouwer and Mariel Valezzi, PTA Co-Presidents

Every Day Counts!

Did you know that student attendance is a strong predictor of academic success? Missing just 10% of the school year—about 15 days—can significantly impact a child's performance. By 6th grade, chronic absenteeism becomes a major warning sign for potential high school dropout. Let's work together to improve attendance! Regular attendance is essential for building strong reading and math skills, fostering good habits, and setting the foundation for future success in college and careers. Missing school not only hinders academic progress but also affects social-emotional development. If your child is sick, please contact our school administrative assistant. If you have concerns about getting your child to school, don’t hesitate to reach out to the Principal. Together, we can support your child’s growth and success!
