Principals Message

Dear White Oaks Families,

The first week of May is dedicated to appreciating our award winning staff who show up for our students every single day and in many different ways. As each morning arrives, our staff members are there to make sure our students begin the day with a smile. They go on to create magic in the classroom supporting learning, on the playground navigating friendships, in the MU serving food, in the office helping everyone that comes through, all over campus keeping it clean, and nurturing a sense of belonging throughout the day with every interaction. We are forever grateful to all of our superstar White Oaks staff members for sharing their talents with our students, each other, and families!

As Earth Month comes to a close, thank you to all of the classrooms that participated in activities that enhanced environmental literacy and built awareness around sustainability. Our students created art, participated in a trash-to-art contest, focused on sorting waste appropriately, sang songs about our planet, and so much more! Walking through classrooms, I am continually inspired by the creativity, collaboration, citizenship/stewardship, and compassion that our students demonstrate (8 C’s Complete list)!

Parking
There has been an uptick of cars parking illegally in the White Oaks Way cul de sac and it is causing a safety hazard. For the safety of our students and families, please pull up parallel to the curb not perpendicular to the curb and remember it is a loading zone only. We have students walking in between the cars and it is very hard to see them. If you need to park, please do so on Cedar or Fairmont.

Lost and Found
Our lost and found is getting quite full again, especially with water bottles and lunch items. The next time you are on campus, please take a look to see if anything belongs to your family. Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the year.

Toys at School
While we understand that the after school programs allow toys from home, we ask that you minimize the amount of personal items that are sent to school. Students are not allowed to play with toys from home during the school day. They can get lost, damaged, or become a distraction to their learning. Please remind them to keep toys, etc. in their backpacks the entire day.

Welcome to Lando Summer Camps at Brittan Acres

At Lando, campers will flex their curiosity and creativity by engaging in real-world engineering challenges while balancing fun summer days playing games and enjoying the outdoors. Our camps develop a camper’s confidence in their own ability to build, test their own design, and solve engineering challenges while having fun. Challenges may include designing a car that can move through wind power, creating an epic catapult to sling resources to those in need, or building an air filter to help solve pollution problems. Campers will collaborate and problem-solve with their friends in a way that they never have before. No experience necessary.
