Principal’s Message
Dear White Oaks families,
Happy New Year! This is the time of year that is filled with aspirations and optimism. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 10, and we are all refreshed and ready to welcome our students back to school.
Monday, Jan. 9 is a Professional Development Day for teachers where they will attend a district-wide Teacher Learning Conference. This special learning day will provide an opportunity for staff to engage in a workshop focused on Universal Design for Learning. Teachers will be honing their craft and learning how to tailor lessons to meet all their learners.
Please contact Annie Stevenson if your child has tested positive for COVID, has COVID symptoms or was in close contact with anyone with COVID. A close contact is being within 6 feet of anyone with COVID, unmasked for 15 minutes or more throughout the day. Annie will give you guidance as to your next steps, quarantining, and returning to school.
All the Best,
Leah Scholer

January Reminders: COVID Tests and Lunch Ordering
In an effort to ensure a safe return to school in January, please test your child before sending them to school on Tuesday, Jan. 10. If your child tests positive or you need additional test kits, please contact your school office and they will be happy to help. For more information, please refer to the SCSD Health and Safety Plan.
Did you order hot lunch for January? Ordering closes a week before the meals are delivered so place your orders as soon as possible to ensure your child gets the meals they want. If you order, please have a conversation with your child first. Find out whether they like the meals, eat their entire meal, and how often they throw the meal away. Our compost bins are overflowing each day with meals that are opened and then thrown away. We need your help to avoid food waste and ensure our students have the nutrition they need to power through the day’s learning. Please only order meals if your child likes the food and will eat it. Thank you!COVID-19 Testing for Schools and Students: Find up-to-date resources on testing in districts and schools as well as at home.
