Principal’s Message![]() Dear White Oaks families, I would like to thank all of our parents who donated fans to our classrooms during this week's incredible heatwave. Our teachers, coaches, and support staff powered through the hottest week I think we’ve ever experienced. I’m grateful for the positivity and energy that they sustained for our students. The kids kept cool during recess lunch by enjoying “chill” activities such as board games, coloring, and Legos. I appreciate our community coming together, yet again, and am very much looking forward to a cooler forecast. Welcome Wednesday This past Wednesday, students voted to name our owl mascot and now I’d like to formally introduce Lil’ Hooty, the White Oaks Owl! Students were very engaged in brainstorming and voting for the name in our very first Imagine If Challenge (Imagine If our owl mascot had a name). ![]() ![]() ![]() We want Welcome Wednesdays to be student-centered and student-led! There are many different ways they can participate this year. In addition to the clipboard I have set out at lunch, students can also sign up here. I will reach out to families and students who sign up and plan with you for future Welcome Wednesdays on a first-come, first-serve basis. Ask your child if they'd like to get involved and help them get signed up. Students can put their names under as many categories as they are interested in participating in. I cannot wait to hear from our students! School Site Council Parent/Community Membership - 2 Positions Open The White Oaks School Site Council consists of five parent or community members and five staff members, including the principal.
