Principal’s Message

Dear White Oaks Families,
What a wonderful start to the school year! Our classrooms and playgrounds are already filled with excitement, joyful learning, and growing connections among students, staff, and peers. It has been heartwarming to see our students settling into routines, building friendships, and discovering all that this new school year has to offer.
Our Learner Profile focus on being a Kind Citizen is already shining throughout our school. Students are building caring classroom communities through morning circles, name games and name art, collaborative building bins, and many other engaging activities. Classes are also celebrating positive choices by earning class points/stars/smiley faces, while students across campus are earning Owl Bucks for demonstrating our schoolwide expectations.
These meaningful experiences help every child feel known, valued, and connected. Together, we are creating classrooms where students can show their caring hearts, develop their curious minds, and contribute to kind communities. At Welcome Wednesday, Ms. Garlick, our counselor, taught us the Calm Down Breathe (Flower Candle). You can practice with your child: smell the flower, blow out the candle! Doing it three times helps to calm our bodies.
Back to School Night - Wednesday, September 2
We look forward to welcoming all White Oaks caregivers to this important evening!

Back to School Night is a valuable opportunity to learn more about your child’s classroom, meet their teacher, connect with me, and hear about the exceptional learning experiences your child will enjoy throughout the year. Your partnership and participation are important parts of your child’s success, and we hope every family will join us.
Thank you for bringing such wonderful energy, kindness, and enthusiasm to the beginning of our school year. We are excited for all the learning, joy, and connection ahead.
In Community,

Support Your School PTA!
San Carlos PTAs and SCEF operate under a consolidated fundraising model — an approach shared with many neighboring districts — so every student gets a high-quality education, no matter which school they attend. This model funds key teaching positions and programs at every school, while giving PTAs the resources to power activities, build community, and advocate for students. The result: economies of scale, and the teachers, programs, and community activities every San Carlos school needs, year after year. Your donation to SCEF keeps your PTA funded for classroom grants, community-building events, assemblies, art enrichment, staff appreciation, and more. See exactly where your dollars go at www.scefkids.org.
