Principal’s Message

Dear White Oaks Families,
A reminder that this Wednesday, April 22, 2026 is our Volunteer Appreciation Day. Our teachers, staff, and I would love to express our gratitude to you with some morning treats in the library at 8:15 a.m. I hope you can join us!
This week, I worked with our teaching team and the School Site Council on our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). We reflected on the various actions taken by our school to address goals that are based on our Strategic Plan. We are doing great things at White Oaks and there are also areas where we are showing progress and/or need attention. Our LCAP will be presented at an upcoming school board meeting.
One action item that we are working on in the LCAP is: providing parent/caregiver education and resources to support parents/caregivers at home and to increase parent and student engagement in school.
I’m sharing a workshop opportunity at the San Carlos library. I thought this topic would be of interest to our families. Check out the information below!

Free workshop on Managing Kids' Screen Time, Gaming, and Safe Social Media Use. Come to San Carlos Library on Wednesday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m.!
The program will be led by Dr. Morgan Eldridge, Psychologist with the Mood Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. Participants will explore how to support balanced, developmentally appropriate engagement with technology while gaining a deeper understanding of potential risks, such as excessive use, unsafe online interactions, and exposure to inappropriate content. The session also emphasizes the critical role of active caregiver involvement in helping children navigate digital spaces safely and responsibly.
