White Oaks Weekly - November 17, 2019

From the Principal

Dear Families,

The third-grade classes would like to invite all White Oaks families to join us in donating toys for Samaritan House, an organization that serves those in need, in San Mateo County. Please place new, unwrapped toys in the blue barrels outside of the office, November 18 - December 8. Thank you for supporting our community.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the San Carlos School District, specifically our maintenance department, for continuing the WO painting project that started over the summer. On Saturday, November 23rd, the painting of our buildings will continue over Thanksgiving break!

In other news, the next Welcome Wednesday will be pushed back to the first Wednesday of December due to Thanksgiving break. Below are the dates for the rest of the year. It is always so nice to see you out there with our classes during these morning assemblies!

PTA Appreciation
Thank you so much for supporting our White Oaks Book Fair. The turnout this week was fantastic and our Family Fun Night was spectacular. It was so fun to see our young readers’ enthusiasm for books. We would like to extend a big thanks to our Book Fair Chair, Debbie Blucher, all our parent volunteers, and our incredible librarian, Mrs. Griffin, for making this special week possible.

2019-2020 Yearbooks Are for Sale
White Oaks yearbooks are for sale! They can be purchased directly from the Jostens website. Yearbooks are $25 each, and the sales deadline is Friday, December 19. Yearbooks are distributed the last week of school by your student's teacher. Most teachers give the students time to sign yearbooks, so don't let your child be left out!

We don't have a lot of extras to sell at the end of the school year, so buy your yearbook now to reserve your copy. Please contact Teresa Williams with questions.

Lunchtime Playpod Volunteers Needed
The White Oaks Playpod provides students with a unique area of play during lunchtime recess. The Playpod is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays and with parent support, we can open it up on Mondays and Fridays as well. Please click here to sign-up.
