Meet our New Principal!
Monday, June 11, 2018
8:30-9:00 am in the White Oaks MU

Dear Parents,

Please join me for coffee and a Meet and Greet to welcome our new principal, Leah Scholer, on Monday morning in the White Oaks MU from 8:30-9:00 am. Late bird kinders are welcome to join us, too!

Following the Meet and Greet, Mrs. Scholer will spend time with staff and students in classrooms. Here is the note that she shared with our students on Friday in preparation for her visit.

Along with staff and parents, I participated in the search for our new principal and I am thrilled with the appointment of Mrs. Scholer! After school gets out, I will work with Mrs. Scholer to support her transition and continued excellence at White Oaks School.

We know that calendars are busy this time of year, and Mrs. Scholer will set up additional Meet and Greet opportunities in the fall.

The PTA Needs You! Volunteer Opportunities
The PTA is already busy preparing for the 2018-2019 school year. We'd like to invite you to check out our new volunteer portal and sign up for any roles and activities that interest you. You can always sign up for a role with a friend and share the fun! Several of these roles would be great to fill now, so that we can be ready to roll for all the back to school activities. Get in touch with us if you would like some more details on what’s involved with each role, we’d love to chat. We are looking forward to partnering with you in making the coming year fabulous for our students!

Pick Up Medication at the School Office
This is a reminder to families of students with medications at school to pick the medications up from the school office the final day of school. Medications not picked up will be disposed of.

Please remember to have orders for school medications renewed this summer. The district requires new orders signed by your health care provider each year.

If you have questions please contact the nursing team.

Read the Latest Edition
Interim Superintendent Mary Jude Doerpinghaus recommends this latest edition of theSCSD Wellness Journal to kick off your summer reading list!

Thanks to the Sequoia Healthcare District, our schools receive over $575,000 in funding for health and wellness that keep all of us feeling safe, connected, and inspired. The programs and activities in this edition of the journal highlight many different aspects of ability awareness and inclusion, and offer ideas for your families to explore.

Don’t Delay, Donate Today
The end of the school year is fast approaching.  San Carlos remains one of lowest funded districts in the region.  Please consider making a gift to the San Carlos Education Foundation to help meet the needs of all of our students.  We are only $300,000 away from meeting our 2.5 million goal. Will your donation be the one that takes us there? Donate now on the SCEF site.

If you have any questions about your donations to SCEF this year, please contact us

How does your donation impact your child’s classroom experience?
Every donation to you make to SCEF before June 30th assures that key programs and tools are in place for the 2018-19 school year. This means that libraries stay open and staffed, elementary field trips are underwritten, music and middle school electives continue for students, technology devices and tech support staff are on hand, each school is served by a counselor and our school principals receive important funding to help cover site specific needs.  If you've already given, thank you.  If not, please consider a gift today.
