We are happy to have many special events at White Oaks. Below are details on the major events for 2019-2020. For the latest event and general school dates, see the School Calendar.
Back to School Night TK-3
Each fall, White Oaks hosts Back to School Night where parents/guardians learn about the school year ahead. The evening begins in the multiuse room with words of welcome from the school principal, SCEF leaders and our PTA. Then, parents/guardians head to classrooms to hear from classroom teachers who present an overview of classroom curriculum, expectations, and special events in order to build a strong home-school partnership to support student success.
Food Trucks & Movie Night
Kick off the new school year with our first PTA-sponsored Family Night! Bring a picnic dinner or visit food trucks onsite. Food/Play from 5:30-7pm and movie starts at 7:30pm.
White Oaks students gather pledges and then walk a designated course at the school. The children have a great time lapping the course to celebrate and benefit their school. The White Oaks Walk-A-Thon is the primary PTA fundraiser for the school and ALL of the money raised goes directly to White Oaks.
This White Oaks tradition is a fun time for students to parade around the school to show off their costumes. Families are invited to cheer the students on as they walk around the campus.
|November 12 - 15||
Expand your child's world at this year's event. This is a great way for parents and staff to buy quality books and contribute to the school's library. Parent volunteers ring sales and help children select books. Join the fun on Family Night on November 13 with a special performance.
The Holiday Gift Store offers a wide variety of gifts for students to purchase for family and friends. Parent Volunteers are always needed for planning, staffing and assisting children when shopping.
2nd & 3rd Grade Dance
2nd and 3rd students are welcome to bring their parents to a fun-filled night of dancing and treats.
Cultural Arts Day
This event is a wonderful fun-filled day where students learn about a particular country and/or culture. Students participate in games, engage in arts and crafts and observe dances popular in the chosen country.
School Play Performances
Stanford Baseball Event
Bring the whole family to enjoy a Stanford baseball game. Students have the opportunity to sing the National Anthem and meet the players too.
May Day Flower Delivery
One of the oldest White Oaks traditions! Students deliver flowers to White Oaks neighbors.
Each year the City of San Carlos hosts a community wide event. White Oaks families walk in the Hometown Days Parade.
The Open House event is an exciting event when your child gets the opportunity to showcase their classroom and the year's worth of accomplishments. The Art in Action presents a wonderful display of artwork in the multiuse room. Family and friends are welcome to help celebrate the year.
Folk Dance Festival
In the Spring, students perform at an all-school dance festival. Traditional folk dances are performed by each grade.
