Murphy Music Camps, in partnership with SMART-E, is SUPER EXCITED to be accepting more campers into their THREE super fun music camps. Kids can enjoy creating a short film where they are the director, actor, producer and composer in the Digital Music/Video Camp. SAMTRAMS Summer Youth Passes
Summer is almost here! The 2018 SamTrans Summer Youth Pass goes on sale May 21 and we're reaching out to schools and other partners to help us spread the word about this heavily discounted pass. The pass is only $40 and is good for unlimited rides on any SamTrans route for kids 18 years and younger from June 1 through Aug. 31, a significant savings compared to purchasing a Monthly Youth Pass for $27 every month.
The Summer Youth Pass allows kids to be independent with safe and affordable transportation all summer long. Details about this year's Summer Youth Pass are online at www.samtrans.com/syp. SYP passes will be sold online starting May 21.

Campers Shine on Stage

If your child loves singing and dancing, she'll love summer camp with San Carlos Children's Theater! This summer, SCCT is offering both full and half day Musical Theater Camp for ages 5-13 in San Carlos. Or, your budding actor might want to perform on stage in SCCT's two-week mini musical, 101 Dalmatians Kids! Join SCCT's Summer Cast

Kids 8-14 are invited to join the cast of this summer's San Carlos Children's Theater musical comedy HONK JR! No prior experience is needed. CAMP GALILEO AND SUMMER QUEST – June 18- August 3, 2018
CREATE SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY THIS SUMMER. Camp Galileo and Galileo Summer Quest location will be back at Arundel School, in partnership with SMART-E & SCSD. Camp G campers will engineer inventions like aerodynamic water rockets, slingshot cars; craft extraordinary works of art like glowing neon signs &magical, multicolor monsters. 5th-8th graders will dive deep into Robot Pet, Virtual Reality, Go-Kart Builders & more. Rock Band Summer
Camp Rock Band Summer Camp with Hummingbird Music School is returning this summer! EXPLORE THE WORLD OF MUSIC AT ROCK BAND CAMP. Campers are immersed in live music and performance, experiencing what it’s like to be in a rock band with fellow musicians and bandmates. Campers together form a band, attend daily band rehearsals, participate in music workshops, and perform with their band in a live showcase at the end of the week. All levels welcome! Math Review - Fun Ways to Get Back to the Basics
Does your child need to brush up on their math skills before school starts? Students in this camp will feel more confident returning to school better prepared. The class will be offered the week of August 6-10. There is a class for incoming 5th/6th graders and incoming 7th/8th graders. Please see the San Carlos Park and Rec Guide (page 14) for more information on how to sign up for the class. This class is taught by a veteran Math Teacher.

Voting in San Mateo County is Changing in June!
The Voter’s Choice Act will go into effect for the June 5, 2018 election. As a result, all registered voters in the county will receive a mail-in ballot in May. Voters can mail it back in the postage-paid envelope they receive with the ballot, take it to a secure Ballot Drop-Off Box, or drop it off at any of the County’s Vote Centers. They can also register to vote and vote in any Vote Center in the county. Look for a list of Ballot Drop-Off Boxes and Vote Centers at smcacre.org soon. Remember: don't throw away your ballot as it has valuable information on how, where, and when to vote!
