White Oaks Weekly - January 2, 2022

From the Principal

Dear White Oaks families,

Happy New Year! 2022 is the start of a new year — filled with aspirations and optimism. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4, and we are all refreshed and ready to welcome our students back to school.

Monday, January 3, is a Professional Development Day for teachers where they will attend a district-wide Teacher Learning Conference. This special learning day will provide an opportunity for staff to engage in workshops covering a variety of topics. Session topics include intervention supports for math and language arts, strategies to support students learning English as a second language, and exploring best practices for social and emotional learning. Teachers will also continue their work with Inclusion Counts, where the focus will be on strengthening our work on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Get Ready for Our SCEF Read-A-Thon!
Next week, our SCEF Read-A-Thon begins. If you haven’t already registered, now is your chance! Click here to take the next steps. Students and families can earn prizes for entering their reading minutes from January 10 through January 21. Not only are there amazing prizes, but this gives students a chance to embrace the joy of reading and support this special community. I hope you and your family join in the fun!
